Phase 2 of the GROW-IT Center is complete!

The GROW-IT Center at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota, is an urban agricultural Gateway for Research, Outreach, Workforce Development, Innovation and Teaching. The project is the result of an extensive planning, fundraising, and design process involving input from college and community stakeholders. The resulting facility, which includes revitalization of an existing greenhouse and a small addition for teaching and demonstration space, allows for year-round greenhouse and education teaching that focuses on urban food production, healthy food access, and environmental sustainability.

Phase 1 of the project was completed in November of 2019 and included improvements to the existing greenhouse that had been vacant for many years.

Phase 2 was completed in mid-August, 2021. The 800 square-foot, climate-controlled addition, provides accessible toilet rooms, a small administration area, an entry vestibule, and space for demonstrations and teaching.
