Mark Therkildsen, AIA, CSI

Architect & Specifications Writer

Mark has a superpower. Aside from being an architect, he is also an experienced specifications (‘spec’) writer who appreciates precision. Whereas drawings might illustrate the pattern of tile on a floor, the written specs tell you what kind of tile – the makers, the composition, the finish. It’s like x-ray vision. Mark can look at a building and see the particulars the rest of us might overlook. Specs also keep Mark curious; building products and technologies are ever-changing, so there’s always something new to learn.

Outside of 292, Mark appreciates a good jigsaw puzzle and Trivial Pursuit. He also enjoys watching the Philadelphia Eagles play NFL football. “The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat apply to football and architecture.”
