Rick is an architect and project manager whose good humor makes design and construction — even the boring parts — fun. He’s known for his attentiveness to overall project goals, his mindfulness of what everyday building users need, and his propensity for making puns. He’s also known for his ability to navigate the complexities of building codes. For clients, Rick explains the implications of a code-related issue for their project; for co-workers, he’s a guide and resource. In each case, all appreciate how he listens, responds and makes them laugh.

Rick’s sense of humor has been influenced by his daughters and the Big Lebowski. While the dad jokes are giving way to hockey talk — the girls are beginning to play — the Dude will always be on DVD.

Goose pate. "It's gone, but not foie-grotten."

Favorite Code Section

It’s a tie. The diversity within Section 10, Means of Egress, intrigues me, but there are some parts of the MN Accessibility Code that can be helpful. Whichever section allows me to provide the best results with the least amount of bureaucratic influence is my favorite.

Favorite Lebowski Quotes

“Mark it 8, Dude.” & “He’s a Nihilist. Hmmm, must be exhausting.” & “Hey, careful, man, there’s a beverage here!” & “Obviously, you’re not a golfer.”
